About the project
We would like to create a common Book of foreigners with pictures of invasive organisms (plants and animals) living in our countries and write very short info about them. This way we can inform and educate children about biological invasions and the problems associated with them. They will see the differences in managing this problem in cooperating countries. If they understand the problem, they will be able to manage their own small steps to reduce the negative impacts of invasive processes on biodiversity and human health itself.
Main aim:
Children will find out what are biological invasions, which risks do they bring to the original biotopes and how can we manage (according to the law) their natural occurrence.
Partial aims:
- to know what does the term biological invasion mean
- to discover which invasive organisms live in our country and in our area (village, town)
- to create common "Book of wanted"
- to suggest - How can we help
1. Activity – Hello, who is there?
Children will make a video to introduce themselves. They work in groups with a different task. After watching the video children can use Padlet for communication.
2. Activity – Book of wanted
Pupils will play a game.
Children will work as sheriffs ( in pairs or groups), they will look for unoriginal (invasive) plants and animals in their country and especially in the area they live in and they will create the lists of Wanted...
We will share our lists on Google documents and together we ´ll create a common Book of wanted to see which invasive species are the same in Spain and in Slovakia and which are different...
3. Activity – Everyone can help
Everyone can help.
Children (Sheriffs) will have a council to give some ideas about how to help, they will again share their ideas on Padlet....maybe they can create their own material about what they have already done to help or what they are going to do.....or just give some possible solutions..
